You should do a travel blog

So, here it is, my first blog. For a while now people have been saying to me ‘You should do a travel blog’ and each time I reply with ‘Oh … I don’t know’. And yet here I am sitting at my laptop just before midnight, wondering how long it will take me to run out of words.

I have spent the past 20 years travelling to the far corners of the world, storing up experiences, memories and meaningful friendships. Along the way I have had a number of grand adventures, found myself in some sticky situations, eaten some of the most delicious food on the planet, and stared in wonder at sights that will stay with me forever.

However, what has truly enriched my life are the opportunities I have been given to meet a whole world of people who are very different to me, yet the same. If you happen to be one of them, then thank you – my life is richer for knowing you.

If we have not yet met, then it is something I look forward to. In fact it could be sooner than you think. You see it won’t be long until I leave my little house on the hill once more to go wandering through France. Will you walk with me?

I also intend to retro blog as I randomly go back in time and remember other journeys.

I hope my words inspire you to get out there and see this beautiful world we live in. You don’t have to travel far – there are amazing things all around us – all we have to do is walk with bright eyes, a curious mind and an open heart.
